Lisa Martin has always cared for her son Zach, raising him and his sisters with patience, love, and unwavering faith. She worked tirelessly to support her family while also nurturing her passion for helping others.
Lisa is incredibly giving, patient and compassionate. Her family describes her as someone who supports everyone around her, whether asked or not. She has been a constant presence, especially throughout her 37-year marriage to Tom, a relationship built on faith and mutual respect.
“The truth is my mom will always be there for whoever needs her,” said Zach. “She loves her kids and her granddaughter Aurora. Her kindness and strength have shaped who I am today.”
Lisa worked with mentally challenged students for over 20 years while raising her three children: Jen, Rachel and Zach. Even in retirement, she volunteers with adults with disabilities, continuing her lifelong dedication to service.
“She just cares for everyone around her,” said Zach. “She gives without thought and always puts others before herself.”
Lisa and Zach cherish their small moments together, from family vacations to cheering on Cincinnati sports teams. Her thoughtful nature shines through in how she plans family trips — blending history, adventure and fun.
“There was a time when she planned a trip to Washington, D.C., ensuring we learned and explored as a family,” Zach shared. “She exposed us to so much of the country, making every trip memorable.”
A funny family memory involved a beach trip to Myrtle Beach when Lisa and Tom lost their daughter Rachel on the beach. Thankfully, after a few stressful hours, a rescue team found her safe down the shore.
Currently, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, staying active, and participating in a women’s Bible study group. Her faith in God continues to guide her life and inspire those around her.
“She’s always been our rock,” Zach said. “Her love and compassion have left an indelible mark on all of us.”
“I’m so grateful for her love, honesty and thoughtfulness,” added her daughter Jen.
“I just want her to know that I am very appreciative of everything she has done for me and my sisters. She can get on my nerves sometimes, but it’s only because she’s wise and wants what’s best for me. I love her and am so thankful she’s my mom.” – Zach
