Celebrating a Special Woman: As Adrian reflects back on 20 years of marriage, he cannot help but feel as lucky as can be to be married to such an incredible woman

Susie is the one who holds it all together. Her friends and family rely upon her because of what she brings to the table, and because she is like a glue. She has a knack for loving on others and making them feel comfortable around each other, and she draws people to one another.

“She keeps her side of the family together,” Susie’s husband Adrian said. “She organizes all the reunions and provides support to everybody when they need it. She is the glue.”

Without Susie, a lot of things would not get done… or at least not at the same level. She is exceedingly organized and stays on top of everything.

She does this while being the mother of all mothers too. Susie is the kind of mom Sean, Sydney, Caedan and Emmitt look up to, and they are all grateful to have such a wonderful role model and pillar of strength and support in their corners.

“Her priority is caring for her children’s needs, whether food, emotional support or life skills,” Adrian said. “Everything Susie does begins with her family in mind. She is dedicated to her family. She and I take a team approach to raising our kids (even if our styles are different, there is always respect and love).

“She’s an excellent role model to our daughter, and is the number one fan for all the kids in their sports. She believes our kids can accomplish anything and lets them know that always.”

Susie is a very uplifting individual, especially as a mother. She will always encourage you to dream big and reach for the stars. She also does not let her love waver, and all four kids (including Sean, who joined the family at 16) never feel less than.

A lot of this can be said about Susie and Adrian’s relationship as well. Adrian did not shy away from talking about how much his wife has done for him over the years, and even how much he looks up to her. She has taught him so many things throughout the years, and he is grateful to consider her as a role model of sorts too.

“She has taught me to be more outgoing, and more considerate of other people’s needs and perspectives,” Adrian said. “She also ‘trained’ me to never arrive at someone else’s house empty-handed, so now I always bring a gift. She makes me feel special whenever she looks me in the eyes. She is the person I want to be around the most in this world.”

Speaking of gifts, Susie makes the most creative gifts you’ll ever see. Whether it be step stools for newborns, family calendars or something crocheted, her gifts do not ever disappoint.

Neither does her personality, as Susie is the kind of person who gets along with everyone and who treats the people in her life like family. She loves to love – which is evidenced even in her job as a nurse – and she has such a sense of compassion. She is irreplaceable and she is the only one for Adrian.
