Before Blake and Christina Warnes officially started dating, they were asking each other questions. The questions were random and covered big and small topics, as the two just wanted to learn about each other.

In the process of unearthing information, something magical happened. The subject of sushi came up, and Blake knew his life would never again be the same.

“We were laying on a picnic table at the park, and I asked her if she liked shrimp,” Blake recalled. “She said yes. I think I knew then that I’d be with her forever.”

Shrimp is Blake’s favorite food. Christina quickly became his favorite person.

“When we first started dating, we went to the park all the time, almost every day,” said Blake.
“We spent every day together until our wedding night.”

On Valentine’s Day 2025, the couple fondly remembers their past, celebrates their present, and looks forward to their future.

“I always want to do something cool for my wife for Valentine’s Day,” said Blake. “I want to show her how much I love and appreciate her.”

Christina is a stay-at-home mom who does not get enough credit. She is raising three beautiful kids: 7-year-old Kennedy, 4-year-old Madelynn, and 11-month-old Oliver.

“She’s a wonderful mother and doesn’t get told enough,” said Blake. “She does everything for us and never expects anything in return. She’s always there for me and the kids.”

The family enjoys visiting the local nature sanctuary and other parks. Christina is an avid Sims player, and the couple loves playing Stardew Valley together.

“We play a lot of Stardew Valley together,” Blake said with a grin. “Almost every weekend, all hours of the night.”

Blake and Christina’s first date was seeing the horror/action movie, “The Last House on the Left.”

“That was the first time we held hands,” Blake said.

They have been inseparable ever since, as Blake has gotten to know and appreciate just how wonderful of a woman Christina is.

“She’s always trying to make herself better,” said Blake. “She always expects a lot from herself and gives her whole self to her kids and family. She does everything she possibly can to take care of us.”

Christina was born to Todd and Sherri Comer on Oct. 12, 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri. She has a sister, Stephanie, and a brother, Michael.

When Blake first met Christina, his wife’s big green eyes were the first thing he noticed. Now he sees so much more.

“Her laugh fills me with life,” said Blake. “She is always telling me to chase my dreams. She makes me want to be a better person.”

It all started with a conversation about shrimp.

“At that moment, when she said she loved shrimp like I do, I knew she was the one,” said Blake. “I just decided she was the one I would spend my life with. To have a big family with. To go on adventures with.”

Today, and every day, the couple celebrates being best friends.

“I know I’m not always the best with words, but I love her like no other,” said Blake. “I love her as a mother, as a wife, and as my best friend. We’ve had ups and downs, but through everything we became stronger together. I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything.”
