Back in high school, they taught us that Christopher Columbus was not a great man.
And now, whether you want to believe that or not is completely up to you. Instead, all I want to do is put all the controversy of Columbus Day aside and show an appreciation for this holiday.
Without Christopher Columbus, America would not be the country it is today. Politics and everything else aside, the United States of America is a country that we should all be proud to hail from, and the freedoms that come from it would not have been possible without someone like Christopher Columbus.
How you view everything else is completely up to you, and these differences in people’s opinions are what America is all about.
