Sue Forry certainly knows all about the meaning of agape love. This Jesus-centered individual spends a lot of time in prayer and devotion, and she also ensures her family comes first at all times. She loves hard and makes countless memories, all the while showing the love of God every step of the way.
“Sue’s kind heart. Her love of family. Sue’s outlook on life makes me want to be a better man,” her husband, Chad, said when asked what he admires about Sue. “She treats everyone with kindness and love. I believe she got that quality from her mother.”
As they are celebrating 23 years of marriage, Chad will tell you it started with a God-ordained meeting, as he stopped pursuing a relationship and instead put it all in His hands. They met in March 2001 at an Eastern Youth Conference at Juniata College, and a year and a half later, they wed. From Chad’s email saying, “You seem like a nice person,” to their first date at TGI Fridays, to their trip to Creation together, Chad and Sue’s relationship has remained full of adventure and faith.
It is also rooted in their love for their kids. They have a daughter and twin boys together, and when you ask the three of them, they will tell you how much they love their parents, and hone in on how wonderful their mother is.
“She’s dependable and listens to us,” Lilly said.
“Mom is caring and always there whenever we need something,” Sam said.
“She listens to you no matter what and she cares about you,” David said.
From the moment she became a mother, something extra special clicked in Sue. She went from amazing to astonishing, and she is as protective and caring a mother as they come.
“I see it in the eyes of our children,” Chad said when asked what makes his wife a great mom. “Even the fact that they are in college, they have their own night that they are to call her and just talk.”
No matter how old they get, the Forry kids know they still need their mom, and that goes to show how great of a mother she truly is. She gives great advice and is a shoulder to lean on, and while she might not have prepared her children to watch out for cows on the road, she prepared them for pretty much everything else they could ever need to know or understand in life.
And of course, when it comes to Sue and Chad’s relationship, they have a model relationship that their kids learn from. Not only that, but the love exuded toward one another is endless. They are each other’s rocks, and they also ensure they keep God at the center of it all.
“Sue, I love you more than words could ever express. You are the perfect example of I Corinthians 13:4-7: Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful. It is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things.” – Chad
