‘I Thank God For Her’: Cassandra is like an angel in Derek’s life, and he loves her so much for everything she does for him and the kids

She fell in love with his voice and did his laundry on their first date. If that does not have all the signs of two people who would eventually fall head over heels for each other, then we’re not sure what does.

In all honesty, though, Derek loves Cassandra with all his heart, and that is because of how amazing she is. Even when she wakes Derek up by moving a weightlifting bench and dropping a phone charger on his face, she does so with such elegance. She has the sweetest smile, too, and she is just so resilient and compassionate.

“The amount of love she shows and gives me really makes her stand out,” Derek said. “I’ve never been loved so much by anybody like her. She has the biggest heart.”

Derek admitted that Cassandra really changed his life rightside up. She has stuck by his side in moments where most other people have given up on him, and he gets emotional just thinking about that fact.

“She really means the world to me,” Derek said. “She’s always there for me. She motivates me. If it weren’t for her, I don’t think I would be where I am. She got me out of a black hole. I owe her my life. She really does mean the world to me.”

Thanks to Cassandra, Derek does not go through life feeling sorry for himself or living a life full of regret. He owns up to the mistakes he has made in the past, and thanks to her, he has a much brighter future. He does not ever want to go back to where he once was, and that is all because of his amazing and sweet girlfriend.

“She elevates me every day by pushing me and motivating me,” Derek said. “Another big thing I want to make sure is known is how much she has helped me with my path to sobriety. Without her, I would struggle with my sobriety. I want to thank her for everything she does for me in helping me stay clean and sober.”

Cassandra helped Derek see the light at the end of the tunnel, and she was there for him through the end. Now she remains there for him each and every day, and just thinking about that fact gives him a whole new perspective.

Cassandra is there for her sons as well. According to Derek, she is one of the best mothers you will ever meet, and when he first met her, he was amazed by how well she handled being a single mother. They are her world, and without her they would definitely not be the same amazing young gentlemen they are today.

“She’s an excellent mother,” Derek said. “She’s got three boys. It’s hard enough being a boy mom, and she nails it every day. Before I got together with her, it was just her. She is at home, raising them and getting them to school; picking them up. And when it comes to Cassandra as a stepmother, I wouldn’t want anybody else in that role.”

She is trustworthy, reliable, and a confidante. All the people in her life love her to no end, and her boys especially are grateful to have a mother like Cassandra.

Her father is blessed to have a daughter like her too. Cassandra is a full-time caretaker of her father right now, and seeing the bond between those two is amazing. They love each other so much, and that father-daughter connection is as strong as any you will ever see.

“She loves her father like no other,” Derek said. “She goes above and beyond. It’s crazy how she can manage the kids, me and her dad. It’s just incredible watching her work and how she is not frustrated or tired. She welcomes me home with a smile and a homecooked meal every night, and I would not have it any other way.”

Cassandra just keeps going. She has a motor that does not stop, and that is because she is selfless to no end. She wants to help create the best lives for her loved ones, and they are all much better off because she is a part of their lives.

Her friends are not ever shortchanged either. Cassandra has a way with them all that makes them feel nothing but love and acceptance.

And then there’s the fact that any room she walks into becomes exceptionally brighter. She carries a positivity about her that radiates and draws people closer to her.

“She’s always smiling,” Derek said. “She expects the good out of everybody. I tell her at times she is too naive. But that’s just because she sees the good in everyone. She’s always smiling and is just a good person. She has a good heart. She is always trying to bring people up. She puts her needs aside for everybody else.”

Cassandra is the glass half-full, giving people the benefit of the doubt type of person. She does not like to focus on the negative in any situation, and that has carried her far in life.

Of course, she has helped carry her relationship with Derek far as well, as she is the yin to his yang. He feels as though, through all the lifting up and encouragement she has done for him, Cassandra has also taught him a thing or two over the years.

“She’s taught me how to have patience,” Derek said. “My patience used to be very thin. She reminds me to stop and think about the situation. Figure out how to fix it. How to gather myself.”

In a world where everyone is always on the go, Cassandra reminds people to stop and smell the roses. She also reminds people that everything happens for a reason and has a way of working itself out.

“Overall she is a great person,” Derek said. “Even if it’s just us in the same room while I watch a Cowboys game. As long as she’s in my presence, I am having the time of my life.”

Cassandra is just truly a saint and she is special, and her family loves spending time with her just as much as she loves spending time with them.

“I love you from the bottom of my heart. I want you to know how much I appreciate you and everything you do. Every morning, I pray and thank God for you coming into my life.”
