John Switalski is a loving father of three whose positive attitude always takes precedence. He is his children’s everything, and his strength and perseverance can get him through anything—even stage 4 cancer!
But when it comes to him as a father in particular, there is no one his children would prefer more to instill advice into them than John. Martin and Olivia keep everything their father has taught them in life in mind every single day, and Ryan is looking down as his father’s guardian angel.
“He’s taught me to always be prepared and to stay calm in situations while also making sure to take the time to look on the bright side and for the good,” Olivia said.
John is a breath of positivity in any room he walks into, and he is always thinking of others. The way he can give people the benefit of the doubt and just be a trustworthy confidant is something his children all appreciate about him.
They also appreciate him providing a sense of support and encouragement at every corner. John has always encouraged them to reach for the stars and to not take life too seriously.
“He’s taught me many life lessons, always making sure to inform me about the life ahead,” Olivia said. “Even when talking about something serious, he always makes sure to crack jokes and make the conversation end on a light note. He’s helped me pursue my dreams and encouraged me in any way he can.”
John is just a truly dedicated father who puts his children first, always.
He is a successful individual in his own right too, and there is no task too difficult for him. He is a communications wizard, and even when he steps foot into the working world each day, he finds a way to put his clients first. He is a connectable individual, and he also has a lot of wisdom.
“He’s very resilient and insanely smart,” Olivia said. “My dad knows a lot about various subjects, and I tend to go to him if I have questions about anything. He’s very good with directions and can always find our way back to the right path when we get lost. Even when battling cancer and being in pain, he never made it someone else’s problem. He tends to always have a smile on his face and fights through the pain and constantly says, ‘Life is Good.’”
Life is especially good when he gets to spend time with his kids and family, and John loves watching golf and birds too. He loves being outdoors, whether putting his green thumb to use or going camping, and his world-famous spaghetti is unmatched.
John is just a wonderful man whose patriarchy takes center stage every day, and his kids love having him as their role model in life.
“Thank you for being such a great dad and helping me make it through life and college. You’ve been an immense help in making sure I stay on track and not let my emotions get the best of me. Thank you for always rocking out to ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn’ by the Beastie Boys with me, and for the immense amount of Alfred University sweatshirts. I love you.” – Olivia
