One Big Heart: Katarina is a truly compassionate and selfless woman whose family appreciates her beyond belief

When you meet someone online, you never know what is going to transpire when you finally meet in person. But for Jarred Goldner, what transpired is he met the most amazing woman he has ever laid his eyes on. From that first date at the Spotted Owl, he could tell Katarina was different… in a good way.

“When I saw how much love and care she puts into everything revolving around our relationship,” Jarred said when asked how he knew Katarina was the one for him. “The notes she leaves me; the gifts; the selfless acts.”

One of the many selfless acts Katarina has portrayed in their relationship was uprooting her life and moving to Dallas with Jarred. She was born in Russia and raised in Ohio, so this was a big deal for her, but she is truly willing to go anywhere and do anything with Jarred. This could be hiking, traveling, or just spending time at home with their young son, but the one thing that remains the same is Katarina loves being around her husband.

Of course, Jarred loves being around his wife too, and that is because of all she has to offer. She is beautiful, caring and thoughtful, and she has a knack for baking some great pastries and desserts.

She has a knack for being a wonderful mother too. It is something that comes so naturally to her, as Katarina is a mama bear by trait.

“For her, it’s been so great to watch,” Jarred said. “She was so nervous about being a mom. She was wondering if she could bond. ‘Will I be good?’ She’s been great, and how she embraced that role so much is amazing. She likes it more than she probably expected to. She is so good at staying on top of things and being sweet and not getting frustrated and making sure he’s busy and active.”

At just 3 months old, little Easton already has such a great relationship with his mother. Every time she walks into the room, his eyes light up, and they are always smiling and giggling with each other.

As he grows older, he will begin to look at his mother as a role model too. And that is because she lives life the right way. In every facet of her life, Katarina works hard and puts her best foot forward.

“She is a tirelessly hard worker,” Jarred said. “She doesn’t do anything half ass. Really watching her stay calm in her role and under pressure is special. There’s a lot of demanding pressure at her job. She’s just fantastic at what she does. We share that similar thought process around work. She is dedicated to her work.”

Katarina is the director of catering in the hospitality industry, and she is the best of the best. Her work ethic speaks for itself, and the time and care and dedication she puts into her job each and every day far exceeds expectations.

What also exceeds expectations is Katarina’s strength and resilience. During the COVID lockdowns, there was a 16-month period where she battled cancer. It was a very tough fight, but Jarred knew she had it in her to get past it.

“Obviously that was a really tough point in both our lives,” he said. “We hadn’t been dating that long. She had to move in with me. The way she dealt with the setbacks and the frustrations. Having to go to doctors’ appointments alone or with me on speaker. She didn’t get the small little subsidies that people get not during COVID. She was totally isolated by herself at times. She couldn’t have anyone in the room during chemo. She struggled but did not want to give up. It was very impressive. It’s hard to imagine – she was 25 and told she had throat cancer without being a smoker.”

Life certainly threw her the curveball of all curveballs, but being the resilient Russian-rooted woman that she is, Katarina kicked cancer in the butt and came out on the other side stronger than ever before.

Jarred is super proud of her for this fact, and he is also just grateful that they have a long life together ahead of them. She makes his life so much better than before, and they are like yin and yang together.

“She’s someone who will never go to bed angry,” Jarred said. “Even when she’s frustrated, she will do the little things to make sure she takes care of you. She will go above and beyond to highlight that she is an amazing wife and amazing partner. She likes to write little notes and leave them around. She’ll leave notes with gifts. The attention to detail she has for me and our relationship is second to none.”

Katarina herself is second to none, as the care in her heart and the love in her bones is amazing. She would do anything for any of her loved ones, and she is especially wonderful to her husband and son, and they both love her with all their heart.
