Former offensive lineman Ross Tucker suited up for five NFL teams during his seven-year NFL career. He started 28 of the 42 games he played in, and he was teammates with the likes of Nate Clements, Champ Bailey, LaVar Arrington, Emmitt Smith and Tom Brady. However, it is his off-field and post-career endeavors that Tucker is becoming known for.
For starters, Tucker is a family man who loves his wife and two daughters, and is known to frequent the beach and family affairs. He also loves drinking his “daddy sodas,” and he has been known to grab drinks with fans – whether virtually or during his travels to different cities for work.
Speaking of his work, that is what Tucker is the most known for. Back in 2013, the Princeton grad started Ross Tucker Media and his series of podcasts – including The Ross Tucker Football Podcast – known for their 30-minutes-or-less timeframe. They are still going strong 11 years later and are even part of DraftKings Network.
Tucker has the likes of Steve Fezzik, Emory Hunt, Greg Cosell and many former and current NFL players, coaches and GMs frequent his podcasts, and his expert knowledge – along with just his overall outspoken fandom – of football takes center stage during every single podcast. His podcasts are built on passion and well-spokenness, and are known for Tucker’s catchphrases, “Yeah it is!” and “Vegas Baby, Vegas!”
His podcasts are just one of the many things the former ESPN employee is known for, though, as Tucker is a current color commentator for both Westwood One Radio and CBS, and for Philadelphia Eagles preseason games. His occasional hot takes and his overall expertise are a breath of fresh air to many fans who tune in and hear him during college and NFL games, and he has gained an expanding fandom and following through his calling of games.
In fact, he has been touted as the Football Broadcaster of The Year Award winner by many of his fans. Tucker is deserving of this honor, as there are a lot of people who know all the hard work and the hours he puts into the job. He dedicates everything to his craft, and Tucker’s willingness to travel to any city for any game and call them with any crew shows just how passionate he is about the game of football.
It is said that Tucker’s Press Box Food Reviews – better known as #TuckSpreads – set him apart from the rest of the nominees. Because of his expert knowledge of the culinary indulgence industry, his reviews of press box spreads have made it easier for people to know and understand which NFL teams have the best press box food, particularly the best chocolate chip cookies.
Tucker goes above and beyond too, as he can be heard on many different sports shows as a guest, whether it be on Outkick, with Jim Rome, local ESPN radio shows, or on The Dan Patrick Show, where he is the main fill-in host when Patrick is not there.
He has multiple business ventures too, and he is a fantasy football and best ball fiend. Oh yeah, Tucker is also the second most famous person from Wyomissing, PA.
Not bad for a former NFL lineman who believed in himself and took his passion for the sport of football and ran with it. Now he has earned himself the Football Broadcaster of The Year Award, and things continue to look up for him.
In response to winning this illustrious award, longtime fan Reggie Sutton and the Dannettes had this to say, “Niiiiice!”
Tucker’s fandom will continue to follow him around as he grows as a podcaster, analyst and businessman, and he is sure to win many more awards just like this one.
Congratulations, Ross Tucker! You deserve it!
