Thirty-seven years ago, Jeff Caywood was set up on a blind date while he was in the Navy. What he did not realize was that that someone would wind up becoming the love of his life.
This woman – Jennifer Caywood – was someone that Jeff all but instantly fell in love with. After their blind date of them attending her company Christmas party, they were married less than a year later. Now, 36 years later, the two are still married and loving each other as much as the day they first fell in love.
“Holding herself to such high standards makes me proud to be her husband, and in turn pushes me harder to do the same,” Jeff said.
His wife is a woman of poise and a woman who always strives for the best. She has not ever been one to settle, but Jeff is grateful she settled for him. She is a woman with a big heart, a love for life, and a strong work ethic, and she is certainly everything Jeff could have asked for in a wife.
“My favorite quality is her always finding the positive in all situations,” he said. “She is so giving of her time and energy supporting many causes that are dear to her heart.”
Jennifer is a charitable and selfless individual. She loves to give back, not just because it makes her feel good, but because that is just who she is. She cares so much about everyone that she would be willing to give the shirt off her back if it was needed.
One of the ways she has shown her care throughout the years is as a mother. Jennifer and Jeff have two amazing daughters, and Jeff will attest that so much of that is because of his wife. Jennifer did such a great job raising them, and he knows raising children as a military wife is one of the most difficult jobs in the world, so he praises her for that.
“Mom, I am so grateful for your selflessness and helpfulness in every aspect of life! It means a lot that you are such an involved grandma and mom,” their older daughter Jessica said.
It is one thing for your husband to appreciate all your sacrifices as a mother, but when your daughters do too, you know you are doing something right. They have both grown up to become mothers in their own right, and that has helped them recognize just how much Jennifer did for them throughout the years.
“Mom means to me someone who is always my friend,” the younger daughter Jenna said. “She cheers me on and is the most beautiful and kind person I know. I’m so grateful she is my mom. I see now how the impact she has had on my life is important as I raise my two kids.”
Growing up, Jessica and Jenna did not ever have to worry if their mother was on their side. From her showing up to all their events to her being there whenever they inevitably fell, Jennifer was (and still is) such a mama bear.
She is now a spoiling grandmother to her four grandbabies too. Those four kids (Everett, Forrest, Lillian and Brooks) are lucky to have a grandmother as supportive and caring as Jennifer, and this is something they will surely grow to appreciate.
What her family also appreciates is all the fond memories they have with Jennifer. From the Caywood wedding to the birth of the children and grandchildren, to the Caribbean cruises and trip to Germany, being on these excursions with Jennifer made them that much greater. Oh yeah, there was also the moose food pellet she held in her mouth and “Kissed the Moose” in Alaska!
There is no doubt Jennifer is always there for family and that she has a knack for making memories, but she is also always there for her friends as well. She will be there to support you and welcome you with open arms.
“She is always there with big hugs to make you feel special and loved,” Jeff said.
Jennifer is super compassionate in every regard, and even during her work days, it bodes well for her customers. She is always looking out for them, and that is because she truly cares about everyone with an endless amount of genuineness.
“I admire her unconditional love,” Jeff said. “I admire her huge heart and how she is selfless and giving of her time to help anybody.”
Everything always circles back around to her big heart and the sacrifices she makes for others, and rightfully so. That is one of the countless reasons why Jeff fell in love with Jennifer over 37 years ago, and it is one of the countless reasons why he has fallen in love with her every day since.
“We love and appreciate all that you do to bring calmness and a huge, warm, loving heart to the family. You bring everyone so much joy with your unwavering support to all. We love you!” – the Caywood clan
