Thank You! – Kevin Herb and his family could not be more grateful than they are for what the Gardners have done for them recently

On October 5, 2004, the Herbs’ lives changed forever both positively and negatively. And while the negative caused the positive, we are going to focus on the positive side of things.

That positive? When the Herbs’ house flooded from Hurricane Milton, they did not even need to ask for help. The Gardners stepped in when Kevin was not even at home at the time, and for that he will be eternally grateful.

“It was a huge help,” Kevin said. “I wasn’t expecting them to come over. I got some water out and went to the storage unit and I came back and looked and saw Pete was pulling out flooring. I just showed up to my house and there he was. He offered us a house to stay while we were getting everything rebuilt.”

“The idea that we are staying with friends and there is nothing uncomfortable about it at all,” Kevin added when asked about the Gardners’ personalities. “It’s great that there’s no pressure. They’re not making us feel like we are overextending our stay. It’s almost like they enjoy our company with us there. They are making the best out of it, that’s for sure.”

Heck, even since their time of convening on one household together, Bitcoin hit $100,000 and President Donald Trump got reelected. Those were two major milestones in the eyes of these two families, and getting to celebrate them together did make them that much sweeter.

That said, the gratitude and appreciation Kevin and his family have for Pete and his family is truly endless. All the Gardners have done over the past couple months is beyond measure, and the Herbs know that.

And that’s exactly who the Gardners are.

“They would never expect anything in return,” Kevin said when asked what makes Pete and Nichole good friends in general. “They are totally gracious people. They are thoughtful people. We joke and laugh. He’s in real estate. He’s an ex-Marine. If you treat him right, he’ll do anything for you. Just for him to think about my wife and I is just pretty incredible.”

And to think, it all started when their daughters were growing up playing soccer together. These families might not have known each other otherwise, and now they have a truly special memory to hold onto forever. It might have been because of unfortunate circumstances, but sometimes that is what sparks some of the best moments.
