Who is the Golden Child and just how did he become it? Abraham Kabalan has always been known as the “Golden Child” in his family from the moment he was born on October 10, 1986. “He was the first love of my life,” Abraham’s sister Rema said.
Abraham’s family had just gone through a great tragedy with the drowning of their middle child, Randa, one year earlier. She came home from the hospital a different girl.
Amid pure sadness, Abraham came along and made life happy again. He put a smile back on his father’s face and a sense of hope in his mother’s heart. Therein was born The Golden Child.
He brought fun back to his siblings. “Don’t worry Rema, I won’t hurt you!” Rema describes their weekly WrestleMania matches. Rema, aka Yoka Zuna, vs Abraham, aka The Sexy Boy Toy Shawn Michaels.
“One piledriver, Rema, that’s it. It won’t hurt!” Abraham would bodyslam Rema and then piledrive her for the count and she was out. He would promise next week’s Royal Rumble she could win, but of course he would keep winning the heavyweight championship every week.
Abraham grew up to continue changing the lives of those who love him. “He really means everything to us. He’s the best daddy to our girls,” Abraham’s wife Alyssa said. “He taught me not to be so hard. He softened me up. He showed me that the world wasn’t so terrible as I thought it was growing up.”
Of course, this is one of the many things that makes him a great father, husband, brother, son and a cherished friend. He is the kind of friend you want in your corner in life.
“He’s probably one of the best friends anyone can have,” Alyssa said. “He will drop anything he is doing to help someone who needs it.”
If anyone needs him, Abraham is there at the drop of a hat, no questions asked. He is as reliable as they come, and he is a positive presence in the lives of many. His family loves spending time with and reflecting on memories made with this irreplaceable soul and rock, and they all are better off because of The Golden Child’s presence..
“I want him to know to never change. Always be who he is. He’s pretty darn awesome.” – Alyssa
