Sheralyn and Michael Beckman

“My wife, Sheralyn, makes me a better person because, before I met her, I was basically lost without her. My friend, my wife and my love has made me what I am today.”

Forty-three years ago, Michael Beckman made the best decision he has ever made – marrying Sheralyn. Hailing from a hardworking, loving family of six, Sheralyn learned from an early age what unconditional love looks like. She spreads that love wherever she goes, and her husband, children and grandchild have always been the beneficiaries of this love.

As a wife, Sheralyn is everything Michael ever wanted or needed in life. He said he loved her at first sight, and rightfully so. She is a truly wonderful woman who brings out the best in him every day, and she is his constant beacon of support.

As a mother, Sheralyn has always been a mama bear. She had a truly unique and amazing bond with her late special needs son, Jermaine, who she always made feel normal and accepted, and she did not once complain about raising him. She also has a wonderful relationship with her and Michael’s daughter, Ebony, who she loves so much and gives advice to all the time.

Then, there is her as Grandma Sheralyn, who would do anything to spoil Skye. That 9-year-old has a great relationship with her grandmother, and she appreciates her showing up for anything and everything that happens in her life.

As a person in general, Sheralyn is a woman of great character. She has so much to offer, and she treats people the right way.

“I admire her because she is such a woman of integrity, and she is friendly, loving, and helping other people as a friend to those in need,” Michael said.

Beyond this, Sheralyn loves life and lives it with such great joy. Whether she is working on her garden, attending church, making the best fried chicken wings, going to the symphony, traveling with her husband, or going to a Houston-related sporting event, Sheralyn makes memories out of all of life’s special moments.

Of course, her selflessness cannot be overstated, nor can her integrity. Her personality speaks for itself each and every day, and there are many reasons why Michael fell in love with her more than four decades ago.

“Sheralyn is a woman of integrity and hard work,” he said. “She is a wonderful, loving mom and would do anything for her granddaughter, Skye. She does much work for her church, and she loves to work outdoors on her plants. She has many friends and has kept them all because she is so loyal. Michael and Sheralyn go to movies and sports events and the symphony.”

Living life with Sheralyn is fun and enjoyable, and that is because she makes it that way. She has a knack for overly caring and being overly reliable and consistent, and all she does for everyone around her does not go unnoticed.

“I want her to know that she has been a blessing to me and that I wish her a happy anniversary and love her forever.” – Michael
