Full of Life: Monica is an inspiration to others and a source of wisdom who always thinks positively.

From the moment Terry met his wife Monica, he found her to be a natural gem. She is easy to talk to, genuine and easy on the eyes.

Monica is also an avid student of the Bible, and the way she lives her life for Christ gives an extra dimension to their relationship.

“She’s very much into the gospel’s morals and values,” he said. “She has a group at church she started called God’s Precious Jewels because she believes in mentorship. She believes all the girls ages 9 and up should have mentors. From her perspective, she loves to pour into girls at that age to give them a solid Christian foundation and a sense of purpose and understanding.”.

What is also awe-inspiring is Monica’s overall heart. She is someone who is there for others at all times. Just like the genuineness she showed Terry right from the start, she has a genuine heart and is truly invested in people’s lives.

“She’s got more empathy and displays more sympathy than is legal,” Terry stated. “She’s always getting on me about looking at things from other people’s perspectives and having sympathy and empathy for others. She always says, ‘Not everyone growing up has access to good, wholesome values. Children can’t pick their parents, and sometimes they do bad things because that’s all they know.’”

When you can take a step back and look at things from a different perspective, it really goes a long way in shifting your mindset.

Along with Monica trying to walk a mile (actually, she walks about four miles almost every day) in people’s shoes, she has many other amazing traits to go along with it. She is honest, forgiving, patient, full of integrity, intelligent, ambitious, detail-oriented and an avid planner. Additionally, she loves walking, meditating and Zumba. 

Professionally, she is a realtor, author, creative and accountant. She proudly and expertly wears a lot of hats, and she wears them well.

Finally, she really loves her family, so much so that she has a phrase for them… The Fortune 5!!

“A lot of times she does 1,000 things for the family she doesn’t get credit for because it’s in the background,” Terry said. “The kids don’t always know how countless things happen sometimes, but many times, it’s because of her tireless efforts. As a mother, she’s all in on everybody. She’s all about independent intentionality. ‘What’s right for one might not be right for another. It’s not a one size fits all,’ she says.”

While Monica loves her kids all the same amount, she treats them each differently. She knows each of them is an individual who deserves to be treated as such, and that is one of the many things that makes her a special mother and wife.

All in all, Monica is a family woman to her core, and she loves pouring her heart, soul and faith into others. She is full of selfless sacrifice, and she is loved and appreciated for her amazing character.
