‘High School Sweethearts’: Chance is glad he met Tanya 28 years ago, and not a day goes by where he is not appreciative of calling her his wife

Astracks

Some high school relationships are built to last.

This is certainly the case for Chance and Tanya Astrack. They bonded over their similar life goals and a love for many of the same things, and they have made so many great memories along the way.

“We are high school sweethearts,” Chance said. “She approached me in the hallway and I couldn’t stop thinking about her since. Our first date was at a Chinese restaurant in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where she started choking on a spicy red pepper. It was hilarious and memorable.”

The Astracks started dating in 1994, got engaged in 2001 and tied the knot in 2002, and Chance will tell you the best decision he ever made was marrying Tanya. She brings him so much happiness and joy on a daily basis, and he just loves being with her.

From the way she has raised and been a role model to their two daughters, Claudia (11) and Charlotte (9), to the way she always puts others first, Tanya has quite the personality. She is as selfless and caring as they come, and her heart is huge.

“She is kind and generous,” Chance said. “She is very empathetic and emotional. Tanya is also funny and creative… plus she has a great smile.”

Her smile can light up a room and her laugh can change the mood of a room in an instant, and that is something that makes Tanya truly unique. She loves like no other, and she is always optimistic and sees the silver lining in every situation, and she is not afraid to give people a second chance.

“She has high integrity and loyalty,” Chance said. “She sees the best in people, giving them the benefit of the doubt. She is adventurous and loves to travel like me.”

Tanya’s personality is off the charts, and that is probably why so many people enjoy being around her. She treats people right and she is understanding of people’s situations.

She is also someone who is constantly teaching not just her girls, but her husband as well. She shows all three of them how to live life to the fullest and how to bring out the best version of themselves, and this is something that the three of them more than appreciate.

“Tanya makes me want to better myself,” Chance said. “She also makes me want to be more honest and reliable. She questions my crazy ideas and we always come up with a good plan.”

No matter what Chance, Claudia and Charlotte all know they can count on Tanya to be there for them, day or night. She wants what is best for others, and that starts with her own family, and she is always going to make that known.

She is one of a kind and is someone who is completely irreplaceable, and her family, friends and everyone in between do not even want to begin to imagine what life would look like without Tanya. She is just that amazing.

“I’m so lucky to have met the love of my life,” Chance said. “It’s been 20 years since we got married and there hasn’t been a day gone by that I haven’t thought of you! Thank you for loving me through all of life’s ups and downs. You are truly my soulmate and all I could ever wish for in a wife.”
