Hardworking mom is devoted to her family

Kate McKillop is a hardworking wife and mother who has dedicated herself to her family. 

Her husband, Bo, said he and their daughters, Lillian and Avie, appreciate everything Kate does for them. 

“Kate works two jobs to help support our family,” Bo said. “She is amazing, and her work ethic makes her a great role model for our girls.”

Kate was born and raised in New Jersey, and unfortunately her parents divorced, but she spent a lot of time with her Opa, who was a very big influence in her life. He passed away in 2018 but she still misses him and thinks about him and the lessons he taught her every day.

Bo and Kate grew up around the corner from each other but did not really know each other. A few years later, Kate asked Bo out on a date, and he said yes, but it didn’t get off to the best start for him. 

“On our first date, I forgot my wallet,” Bo said, laughing at the memory. “Luckily, she wasn’t mad about it, and she footed the bill.”

There was a spark at that date, which led to more dates, and a year later when they celebrated a Phillies World Series title together, Bo knew Kate was “The One.” They were then married on September 10, 2010. 

The couple has made countless memories together, but one that sticks out the most to Bo is the day in June 2013 when they found out they were going to have their first child.

“After all we had been through, it was such an amazing moment of pure happiness that I will never forget,” Bo said. 

Lillian was born in 2014 and then they added Avie a few years later. Kate loves spending time with the girls, and they love spending time with her. 

Kate enjoys the beach in the summer, and Avie said it is her favorite thing to do with her mom. She also has a great sense of humor, which Lillian loves. 

“Mommy is so funny, she makes me laugh,” Lillian said, adding, “I like it when mommy dances like a goofball.”

Kate works as the Office Manager at ProActive Chiropractic, where she does an excellent job making sure the office runs smoothly. 

“Kate is such a hard worker, they are lucky to have her,” Bo said. “Her work ethic sets a great example for Lillian and Avie.” 

She works hard, but she makes sure that her family comes first. Bo said Kate will do anything for the girls. 

Lillian said she appreciates that her mom takes time to take her to horseback riding lessons, and Avie said her mom always makes her boo boos feel better. 

In what little free time she has, Kate likes to workout, read Colleen Hoover books, go to breweries, and watch TV with Bo, especially Phillies games. She is also a great dog mom to the family’s two dogs, Kona and Angus. 

As much as she likes other things, for Kate, everything comes back to the girls, who she showers with love and attention. 

Both Lillian and Avie are thankful for their mom’s generosity, especially when she gives them special treats. 

“I like it when mommy lets me have candy even when I already had candy,” Lilian said with a smile. 

“I like going to the zoo with mommy,” Avie said, adding, “I love it when she gets me more princess dresses.”

Bo said he loves Kate’s positive spirit and contagious smile. 

“She is so beautiful, and her smile lights up any room,” Bo said. 

Bo appreciates Kate’s ability to overcome adversity and be resilient, adding that he has learned a lot just by watching the way she lives her life.

“Seeing how she handles everything at work and how she is raising our girls has made me a better person,” Bo said. “She has taught me what love is and how to love.”

“Kate, thank you for everything you for me and the girls,” Bo said. “You mean the world to us, and I want you to know how much we appreciate you. You are my best friend in the whole world, and I love you!”

The girls also want their mom to know how much she means to them. 

“Mommy, I love you,” Lillian said, and Avie added, “I love mommy very much.”
