Joelle Dodd is an adventurous and loving wife and mom who has dedicated herself to caring for her family and others.
Her husband, Jay, said Joelle is incredibly supportive to him and their three children – Capri, Mason and Chloe – in everything they do.
“I am so blessed that Joelle has always supported me in my career and in life,” Jay said, adding “She is always there to encourage the kids with her Oreo sandwiches, love and support.
Joelle’s caring personality extends beyond her family to her job as a teacher. She is incredibly hardworking, and her caring nature provides wonderful support for her students.
She is very busy with her job and other obligations, but when she has free time, Joelle enjoys reading and continuing to learn, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Kami, Joelle’s younger sister, helped Jay and Joelle meet at Griz’s Farm for Prosser High School. Thanks to her, they “randomly” met in the hallway in front of an audience of Mustangs.
Their first date was a walk along the river, and Jay laughs when he remembers that Joelle showed up in high heels.
“On that first date we had so much in common, and yet we were also different in so many ways, but I just knew that I was in love, and I never wanted to let her out of my sight,” Jay said. “Later that night I met up with my dad and told him that I met the girl I was going to marry.”
When they first started dating, they would email a hundred times a day with the subject line: sonics. Jay said they would email every chance they had during the day, and he remembers being so excited opening every email.
They still enjoy being together and do many things as a couple, including going out with friends or on a date night, or they just hang out at home and make a meal and watch a movie. The point is just being together, Jay said.
Jay said he admires Joelle’s kind heart and also her feistiness because she is willing to fight for what she believes in.
“Honestly, I think Joelle is amazing and I am in awe of everything about her,” Jay said. “Not only is she great to me and the kids, just being around her makes me the best version of myself.”
“Joelle, I never say thank you enough for the little things you do every single day, I love you with all my heart and I always will!”
