Why do we offer three different story tiers?

Whether you are new to our site or are a returning customer, you may be wondering why we offer three different story tiers/sizes (Basic, Plus, Deluxe).

And honestly, there are a couple of reasons why we do this.

First off, we want to offer you flexibility. We realize that our maximum package with all the add-ons is within everyone’s budget, and we want to be accommodating to that. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to have a story written by a professional journalist, so we want there to be options for everyone.

Second off, not every story is the same. While our different story sizes are typically ideal for certain occasions, that is not always the case. Sometimes, a wedding story is only meant to be 500 words and sometimes a Christmas story makes sense to have 1,000 words, and that’s perfectly okay.

Thirdly, we want to offer people more room for more interviewees. This was originally put into play when phone interviews were included in the package, but now we can offer a little more flexibility. And while it might not make sense to have six interviewees involved in a Basic story, the idea is that we want you to involve the people you want to involve, as long as the amount of people is within reason.

At the end of the day, the availability of three different story tiers is because we want you to have options available. Everything ultimately comes down to preference and how long you want your story to be, as well as how many people you want involved, so that is why we leave the story tiering in the hands of our customers.
