May this be the offer that opens the flood gates for Cavon Butler, a three-star defensive end from from Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. The 6-4, 265-pounder picked up an offer from Pitt this week and added it to a previous offer he received from hometown Toledo. With spring and summer camp and workout opportunities ahead, Butler has a chance to keep turning heads.

Butler lists a 4.9 in the 40-yard dash, a 35-inch vertical jump and a 315-pound bench press. He also shows 91 tackles, 12 sacks, 23 “harassments,” nine TFLs and 16 big hits, which all shows up on his game film. Butler is physical off the edge and wins at the point of attack with quick, strong hands and a good first step.

For the magnitude of the Pitt offer and a skill set that deserves more recognition, Butler picks up the first ever FrontPage Recruit of the Day award. His recruitment could change and more scholarship offers could be on their way if he keeps doing what he’s doing through his senior season.

So here he is, Cavon Butler, FrontPage Recruit of the Day.

Remember, it doesn’t take big-time offers to get the recognition you deserve

Whether you’re an athlete who is looking to get recruited and earn more scholarship offers, or if you’re a parent who feels your son or daughter just deserves a little publicity, FrontPage Recruits can help you out.
