‘Special to Us’: The Jerome household is filled with a lot of love and fun thanks to Jazzmin

It never hurts to shoot your shot. That is what Kevin Jerome learned when he noticed the woman that would become his wife, Jazzmin, liking all his Facebook pictures. He shot her a message, went to meet her at the Motor City Tattoo Expo at the hotel she was working at at the time, and they had their “first date” at a party Kevin “forced” her to go to.

Eventually, they fell in love, got married and had a lifetime full of memories, which now revolve around their two children (just don’t ask Kevin about the events that led up to Mia’s birth).

Speaking of the children, there is nothing Jazzmin would not do for Mia and Nico. They are both still young, but Jazzmin is already instilling into them the importance of family time, which is why she does not ever let them go to bed without having some play time with them.

She’s teaching them how to address both children and adults, and just manners in general. She is also showing them the importance of hard work (she has received countless promotions at Ally) and being friendly, positive and easygoing.

Jazzmin is also ensuring that Mia and Nico know they can go to her for anything at all.

“I would say that they go to her more than they come to me,” Kevin said. “I think she is just the very motherly, the loving, the caring, the nurturing person. For example, if they hurt their knee and they go to her, she’ll give them a Band-Aid… They definitely get the more motherly from her.”

Once a mama bear, always a mama bear. That is something that will not ever change for Jazzmin. She takes the kids to the park and on blow up slides and just anywhere that gets them out of the house.

She loves DIY too, whether she is doing home projects or crafts with the kids, and Jazzmin is constantly looking out for the neighbors. She is selfless and heartfelt, and that does not go unnoticed.

What also does not go unnoticed is her wits. She is an intelligent individual who is super determined and will not let a failed test mess with her confidence.

“I admire that she’s always learning,” Kevin said. “I admire the way she loves me and the kids. Jazzmin is such a hard worker and is always going above and beyond. I admire that she makes me a better man and husband. I admire that she gives it her all for our children.”

Jazzmin gets a lot of this from her upbringing, as she is someone who is close with her father and brothers, and uber close to her mother. Her mom is probably her best friend, and Kevin said Jazzmin could never move away from her.

Jazzmin also would not let anything happen to their children, and she is the best mom Kevin could ask for to be raising his children. She is awesome and loving, and he adores her so much.

“I absolutely adore and love her to pieces. I wouldn’t be able to do this crazy life without her. She’s the most important person to me and the kids. She’s beyond loved and she’s so special to us.” – Kevin
