It may not always feel this way, but Melissa is loved and appreciated by all. From the people at the nursing home all the way down to her grandchildren, there are a lot of people who are much better off because of Melissa.
“Being nice to people no matter what,” her son Scott said when asked what he has learned from his mother.
For Melissa, selflessness comes easily. She does not ever want to see someone go without, and that is what makes her such a good provider.
“She always worries about [others] before herself,” Scott said.
Melissa will even have some of her residents over for gatherings at times, and she frequently takes food to an elderly couple in the area. She ensures they all feel loved and provided for.
She does the same for her kids as well, as just recently she took Scott in for a little bit as he was working on getting back on his feet. She even provided for Scott’s sister, Stacey, financially when her son was going through some health issues, as Melissa is a mom who provides.
“She shows me what family means and how to look out for others before yourself,” Scott said.
When you are around Melissa, you will figure out pretty quickly where her loyalty lies and who matters most to her. She is a family woman who loves her kids and grandkids, and she consistently puts herself last. She will even take the grandkids shopping with her to get to spend extra time with them.
“She’s easygoing for the most part,” Scott said of his mom’s personality.
Don’t get Scott wrong, either, as his mom would let him and his sister know if they were out of line growing up. But, for the most part, Melissa is someone you can get along with and have a good time with because she is just so fun to be around.
“We’re still hoping someday we’ll go on a family vacation again,” Scott said.
Every moment with her is special, but Scott hopes they can go on a big family vacation again, as his mom deserves that.
Melissa also deserves to be showered in love and appreciation. She is just as happy sitting at home with her kids as she is out shopping with her grandkids, and that is because she just cherishes that time with family so much.
Her family has also come a long way thanks to her. Everything Melissa ever instilled in her children and grandchildren was heard, even if it was not originally listened to.
“I did make her worry sick when I was younger because I was a hooligan,” Scott said.
But Melissa did not once give up on her son. She loves him with all her heart, and he loves her with all of his. She is special and amazing, and she deserves to be celebrated daily.
“Mom’s kindness and love are noticed and appreciated.” – Scott
