Micah Bernard narrowed a list of 14 scholarship offers down to one on Wednesday, picking Utah over Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado State and others. The Gahr Richard (Calif.) High School running back is listed as the No. 44 running back in the country and the No. 698 prospect overall by 247Sports.

The Utes are getting a good one, too. Bernard rushed for 2,411 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior last season. He showed he could run with patience and power in carving up opposing defenses, and he found another gear when he saw a hole to burst through it for big gains. Bernard was shifty, elusive and patient and displayed tremendous instincts for playing the position.

With his college commitment made, Bernard is today’s FrontPage Recruit of the Day. Here’s a look at the highlight film from his junior season.

Remember, it doesn’t take big-time offers to get the recognition you deserve.
